Responsibilities
- Process retirement applications and benefit calculations for public employee pension plans
- Provide clear, accurate guidance to members on retirement options, deductions, and survivor benefits
- Interpret and apply complex pension regulations and legislative updates
- Maintain secure member records using specialized pension administration software
- Collaborate with finance and HR teams to resolve benefit discrepancies
- Prepare monthly reports and statistical summaries for management review
- Participate in cross-departmental training on policy changes and system upgrades
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits, or financial services
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and database management systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to numerical accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Familiarity with Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) regulations preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
