Responsibilities
- Respond to 911/emergency calls with calm professionalism and rapid assessment
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Coordinate field resources (police, fire, EMS) during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Collaborate with multi-agency partners during large-scale emergencies
- Participate in continuous training on emergency protocols and systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Typing proficiency (40+ WPM) and basic computer literacy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No criminal record (felony/misdemeanor convictions may disqualify)
