Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Perform multi-tasking during high-volume emergency situations
- Provide critical information to field units and coordinate resources
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
- Complete mandatory dispatcher certification training programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM (verified test required)
- Fluency in English with clear verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergencies
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn technical systems
- Valid Indiana driver's license
