Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls with compassion and efficiency
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units via radio and CAD systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to officers in the field
- Operate multi-line phone systems and emergency equipment
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and protocol standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
- Exceptional verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency (typing test required)
- No felony convictions (background check mandatory)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
- Pass drug screening and medical evaluation
