Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and process emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD software and radio communications
- Maintain detailed logs of all incidents, calls, and unit activities
- Provide critical information to first responders and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Remain calm under extreme pressure during critical incidents and disasters
- Operate specialized communication equipment and follow departmental protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments with exceptional composure
- Clear communication skills with strong listening and articulation abilities
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized dispatch software
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship and valid Wisconsin driver's license
- No felony convictions and ability to pass background check and drug screening
