Responsibilities
- Answer and triage emergency/non-emergency calls with empathy and urgency
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems with precise accuracy
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and emergency notification systems
- Adhere to departmental protocols and HIPAA/GDPR compliance
- Participate in ongoing training for new procedures/technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer proficiency with data entry skills
- Strong multitasking and situational awareness
- No criminal history (background check required)
- Must pass typing test (40+ WPM) and voice assessment
- Ability to work rotating shifts/nights/weekends
