Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and urgency
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio communications equipment
- Accurately document all call details and incident reports
- Dispatch appropriate emergency services (police, fire, EMS) based on protocols
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-pressure situations
- Utilize CAD systems for real-time tracking of units and incidents
- Provide critical information to first responders and field units
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
- Clear verbal communication with neutral accent
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- U.S. citizenship and valid Virginia driver's license
