Responsibilities
- Digitize, catalog, and maintain physical/digital public records according to NC State Archives standards
- Respond to public records requests with accuracy and compliance with open records laws
- Organize and archive documents using established classification systems
- Assist in developing retention schedules for municipal records
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure document accessibility
- Train staff on records management protocols
- Generate reports on document inventory and retrieval metrics
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in library science or records management preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in document management or records administration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management software
- Familiarity with North Carolina Public Records Law (G.S. 132)
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Valid NC driver's license (may be required for inter-departmental deliveries)
