Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screenings using advanced X-ray equipment and manual pat-down techniques
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with travelers
- Identify and report suspicious items or activities according to established procedures
- Operate and maintain security screening equipment including EDS, X-ray machines, and trace detectors
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Document security incidents and screening activities in TSA reporting systems
- Provide customer service assistance to travelers regarding security procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (4-6 hours per shift)
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security software systems
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Must be willing to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
