Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using advanced X-ray technology and manual detection methods
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to identify prohibited items
- Operate metal detectors, explosive trace detection equipment, and other security systems
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining courteous and professional interactions with travelers
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to TSA procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Continuously update knowledge of evolving security threats and regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass a background investigation and security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English (bilingual preferred)
- Ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
