Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Conduct physical pat-downs and bag searches as required by security protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity
- Operate advanced imaging technology and trace detection equipment
- Enforce TSA regulations and communicate security procedures to travelers
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergencies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency and clear communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must complete TSA's Security Training Certification program
