Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage at security checkpoints using advanced imaging technology and manual search techniques
- Monitor X-ray equipment to detect prohibited items and ensure compliance with TSA security protocols
- Conduct thorough physical searches of passengers and property when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor during security interactions
- Document security incidents and report suspicious activities to supervisory personnel
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff to resolve security concerns
- Maintain accurate records of screening activities and equipment maintenance
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (TSA Credentialed)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Proficient in English with strong communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Successfully complete TSA's 120-hour training program
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
