Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screenings using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Identify and report prohibited items, suspicious behavior, and potential security threats
- Operate advanced screening technology and maintain equipment calibration
- Provide courteous and efficient customer service to travelers during screening processes
- Enforce TSA regulations and security protocols with professionalism and tact
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport security teams during emergency situations
- Complete mandatory security training programs and certification requirements
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check, drug test, and medical evaluation
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn screening technologies
- Excellent communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
