Responsibilities
- Manage and process pension benefit applications, calculations, and termination requests with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Respond to complex inquiries from retirees, beneficiaries, and agency representatives regarding pension eligibility and status.
- Analyze financial data and pension formulas to ensure compliance with state laws and TSRS policies.
- Collaborate with the IT department to troubleshoot system issues and improve pension administration workflows.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records for all pension accounts, ensuring data integrity and privacy.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for state auditors and the Legislative Budget Board.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public sector administration, pension management, or financial services.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to government compliance regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for state agency meetings as needed.
