Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for state employees, calculating benefits and processing retirement applications
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pension regulations (ERISA, TRS guidelines)
- Conduct member education workshops on retirement planning and benefits
- Manage pension fund investments and reporting under fiduciary oversight
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve complex pension-related inquiries
- Generate quarterly financial reports and actuarial projections
- Implement digital pension modernization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Proficiency in pension software systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, PeopleSoft)
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) designation strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of ERISA and Texas pension regulations
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Experience with weekly payroll processing systems
