Responsibilities
- Perform complex calculations and processing of pension benefits, including retirement estimates, survivor benefits, and refunds, specifically during weekend operations.
- Review and validate pension applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance with state regulations.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding pension status, eligibility, and account balances in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and secure records of all pension transactions and member interactions using state databases.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless service delivery across all shifts.
- Stay updated on changes in retirement laws, tax codes, and departmental policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, pension processing, or financial services is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and database management systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry and calculation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during the designated weekend shift.
