Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan contributions, distributions, and member records with precision
- Ensure compliance with Ohio Revised Code 742 and ERISA regulations
- Process retiree applications and conduct benefit calculations
- Develop educational materials for public employees on retirement planning
- Collaborate with investment and actuarial teams on fund performance
- Respond to member inquiries via phone, email, and in-person consultations
- Conduct audits to maintain fiduciary accountability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension/benefits administration or public finance
- Knowledge of Ohio retirement systems (STRS, OPERS, SERS) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and pension software (e.g., Millennium)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to numerical accuracy
- Excellent communication abilities for diverse stakeholder interactions
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CFA) is a plus
