Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans in strict compliance with state/federal regulations and California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) policies
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursements with 100% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension fund transactions and member records
- Provide expert guidance to employees and retirees on pension benefits, survivor options, and retirement planning
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and HR departments to ensure consistent policy implementation
- Monitor legislative changes and update procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
- Generate analytical reports on fund performance and membership trends for stakeholder reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of California pension regulations, ERISA requirements, and fiduciary responsibilities
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software and MS Office Suite
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) or SHRM-SCP designation strongly preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
