Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund administration including benefit calculations, distributions, and record maintenance
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Wisconsin state pension laws
- Develop and implement retirement plan policies and procedures
- Conduct participant education workshops and one-on-one counseling sessions
- Collaborate with auditors, attorneys, and investment committees on compliance matters
- Analyze pension fund performance and prepare annual actuarial valuations
- Manage pension fund investments and oversee third-party administrators
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of pension plan administration experience
- SPBC or QPA certification preferred
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS 401(k) and 457(b) regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, BenefitFocus)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication skills for participant education and stakeholder reporting
- Public sector or municipal pension experience highly desirable
