Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits including eligibility calculations, distributions, and participant communications
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Kansas state pension laws
- Analyze fund performance and prepare financial reports for stakeholders
- Manage participant data and maintain accurate retirement records
- Develop and implement plan policies and procedural improvements
- Coordinate with auditors and legal counsel for annual reviews
- Provide retirement counseling and educational workshops for employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Kansas pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, NaviPlan)
- Advanced analytical skills with financial data interpretation
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA) preferred
- Experience with public sector pension plans highly desirable
