Responsibilities
- Manage daily pension plan administration including member contributions, benefit calculations, and disbursements
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and New Mexico state statutes
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and actuarial valuations for stakeholders
- Develop and implement pension policies aligned with legislative requirements
- Conduct member outreach and educational workshops regarding retirement benefits
- Collaborate with auditors and legal counsel during annual reviews
- Maintain accurate participant records in pension management systems
- Analyze fund performance and recommend investment strategy adjustments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of pension plan administration experience
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) designation preferred
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Millennium, Albridge)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and state pension laws
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage sensitive confidential information with discretion
