Responsibilities
- Administer complex defined-benefit pension plans ensuring compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and DC-specific statutes
- Manage participant communications, including retirement counseling, benefit statements, and educational workshops
- Analyze financial data to assess plan solvency, funding adequacy, and actuarial projections
- Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and investment advisors for annual plan reviews
- Oversee pension disbursements, record-keeping, and participant data integrity
- Develop and implement plan amendments in response to legislative changes
- Lead special projects related to pension plan optimization and modernization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension administration experience with government or multi-employer plans
- Deep expertise in ERISA, IRS Code 401(a), and DC pension regulations
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Benefitfocus)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial reports
- SHRM-SCP or CEBS certification highly desirable
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement
