Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the City's defined benefit pension plan
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and IRS guidelines
- Process member contributions, distributions, and benefit calculations
- Prepare annual actuarial valuations and financial reports
- Develop and implement pension plan policies and procedures
- Respond to member inquiries and provide retirement counseling
- Collaborate with investment advisors on fund performance analysis
- Conduct internal audits to ensure operational accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of pension plan administration experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS 401(k), and Oregon PERS regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with public sector pension systems preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
