Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans including eligibility calculations, benefit distributions, and retirement counseling
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Nebraska state pension laws
- Manage pension records and databases with precision and confidentiality
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews and audits
- Develop and present educational materials on pension benefits to employees
- Respond to inquiries from retirees, beneficiaries, and city departments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension administration software
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Nebraska pension statutes
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage sensitive confidential information with discretion
