Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans including contributions, distributions, and vesting calculations
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Georgia state pension statutes
- Process retirement applications and coordinate with HR departments for accurate record-keeping
- Conduct annual plan audits and prepare financial statements for oversight committees
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for pre-retirees
- Collaborate with investment teams to monitor fund performance and asset allocation
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding benefits, tax implications, and retirement options
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and Georgia pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS systems and pension administration software (e.g., Workday, ADP)
- Series 65 or 66 securities license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Ability to communicate complex retirement concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders
