Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits including eligibility calculations, distributions, and retirement counseling
- Ensure strict adherence to ERISA, IRS regulations, and California state pension laws
- Manage member records and databases with precision and confidentiality
- Collaborate with finance teams on investment reporting and fund valuation
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for plan participants
- Conduct audits and compliance reviews to mitigate fiduciary risks
- Coordinate with external vendors, auditors, and legal counsel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and California pension codes
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Benefitfocus)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and member education
- Proven project management experience with regulatory compliance initiatives
- Series 65 or 7 securities license preferred
