Responsibilities
- Administer city pension plans ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and ERISA guidelines
- Manage participant enrollment, distributions, and retirement counseling services
- Conduct financial analysis and valuation of pension assets and liabilities
- Develop and implement strategic investment strategies for pension fund portfolios
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city officials, auditors, and governing boards
- Collaborate with HR and legal teams on pension policy development and revisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in pension plan administration or benefits management
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Kansas pension statutes
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders
