We seek a detail-oriented professional with expertise in pension regulations and public sector retirement systems. You'll work in a collaborative environment supporting over 2,000 active and retired employees through complex pension administration, compliance monitoring, and benefit calculations.
Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans in compliance with ERISA and Texas state regulations
- Process member enrollments, service credit updates, and retirement applications
- Conduct benefit calculations and provide retirement counseling to employees
- Prepare annual actuarial valuations and regulatory compliance reports
- Manage pension investments and coordinate with external fund managers
- Develop and maintain pension plan documentation and procedures
- Collaborate with HR, auditors, and legal teams on pension-related matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS Code 401(a), and Texas pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, NGAGE)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to complex financial calculations
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Experience with government sector retirement systems highly valued
