Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans ensuring compliance with ERISA and IRS regulations
- Process retiree benefit enrollments and coordinate healthcare transitions
- Conduct annual valuations and actuarial reporting for pension fund solvency
- Manage participant communications regarding plan changes and retirement options
- Collaborate with auditors and legal counsel for regulatory compliance
- Develop retirement education workshops for municipal employees
- Maintain secure participant data in pension administration systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) designation
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS 415/401(a), and Nebraska retirement laws
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Experience with public sector pension systems preferred
