Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan administration including enrollment, eligibility verification, and benefit calculations
- Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations (ERISA, IRS, CalPERS policies)
- Process retirement applications, distributions, and member account maintenance
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure data accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Develop educational materials for plan participants and employer partners
- Collaborate with finance teams on funding strategies and actuarial reporting
- Respond to complex member inquiries with clear, actionable solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or retirement benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and state pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in benefits administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for complex member interactions
- Experience working with public sector retirement systems preferred
