Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans including retirement calculations, benefit distributions, and participant communications
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Kansas state pension laws
- Manage participant data, record-keeping systems, and quarterly reporting requirements
- Conduct eligibility reviews, disability claims processing, and survivor benefit coordination
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for employees on retirement planning
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews and financial audits
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of pension operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a)/403(b) regulations, and Kansas pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower) and MS Office Suite
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex retirement concepts to diverse audiences
