Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for government employees, ensuring compliance with ERISA and state regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursement distributions
- Advise employees on pension benefits, retirement planning, and post-retirement options
- Conduct audits and maintain accurate financial records for pension portfolios
- Collaborate with HR departments to implement policy changes and training programs
- Generate analytical reports on pension fund performance and demographic trends
- Respond to inquiries from retirees, beneficiaries, and agency partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or SHRM-SCP preferred
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Kentucky pension statutes
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, HRIS systems, and pension software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder education and conflict resolution
