Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for state employees including benefit calculations, disbursements, and record maintenance
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and pension board policies
- Process retirement applications and conduct eligibility verifications
- Provide exceptional member services via phone, email, and in-person consultations
- Collaborate with finance teams on fund reconciliations and reporting
- Develop educational materials on pension benefits for state agencies
- Participate in system upgrades and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Proficiency with pension software (e.g., Milliman, NCPERS) and MS Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas pension laws
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding communication skills in English and Spanish (bilingual preferred)
- Ability to manage confidential data with discretion and integrity
