Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee pension plans for state employees, ensuring compliance with NY State regulations
- Process retirement applications, calculate benefits, and manage participant records
- Conduct audits and financial analyses to ensure plan solvency and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with legal and financial teams to update plan provisions and policies
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, and retirement planning
- Prepare comprehensive reports for management and regulatory bodies
- Implement improvements to pension administration processes and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, NY State Retirement & Social Security laws
- Proficiency with pension administration software and MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex benefit structures
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Remote work experience with demonstrated self-motivation
