Responsibilities
- Process and verify weekly pension contributions, disbursements, and adjustments for state retirees.
- Conduct detailed compliance audits on pension applications to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for retired government employees, resolving complex inquiries regarding benefits via phone and email.
- Collaborate with the HR and Payroll departments to investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll and pension records.
- Maintain secure, up-to-date electronic records for all pension beneficiaries, ensuring strict confidentiality.
- Assist in the implementation of new pension plan policies and system updates.
- Perform data analysis and reporting to support the department’s long-term financial planning.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, human resources, or government benefits processing.
- Mandatory Availability: Must be available to work a regular weekend schedule (Saturday and Sunday).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with government database management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial and personal data with the utmost integrity and discretion.
