Responsibilities
- Conduct audits and investigations of federal pension plans to ensure ERISA and federal compliance
- Analyze complex pension documentation and financial reports for regulatory adherence
- Develop guidance materials for federal agencies on retirement plan administration
- Collaborate with remote teams to resolve pension-related inquiries and disputes
- Monitor legislative changes affecting federal retirement programs
- Prepare comprehensive compliance reports for senior leadership
- Train federal HR professionals on pension regulations and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension plan compliance or benefits administration experience
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS Code 401(k), and federal retirement systems (FERS/CSRS)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex regulations
- Professional certification (CEBS, SPHR, or JD) highly desirable
- Proficiency in pension administration software and data analysis tools
- Ability to work independently in remote settings with minimal supervision
