Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of multi-employer and single-employer pension plans to ensure ERISA compliance
- Investigate participant complaints regarding pension plan violations and fiduciary breaches
- Develop corrective action plans for non-compliant pension plans with strict deadlines
- Collaborate with legal teams to prepare enforcement actions and settlement agreements
- Provide technical guidance to plan sponsors and participants on complex pension regulations
- Analyze financial reports and actuarial valuations to assess plan health
- Represent the agency in hearings and dispute resolution proceedings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of pension plan administration or compliance experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS Code 401(k), and PBGC regulations
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial documents
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, ASPA, or CFA) highly desirable
- Experience with federal regulatory enforcement procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality
