Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee federal pension plans (FERS, CSRS) ensuring compliance with OPM regulations
- Conduct complex benefit calculations for retirement, disability, and survivor claims
- Develop retirement planning strategies for federal employees across diverse agencies
- Collaborate with legal and financial teams to update pension policies and procedures
- Analyze pension fund performance and recommend investment strategy adjustments
- Train HR professionals and employees on retirement benefits and enrollment processes
- Prepare comprehensive reports on pension plan health and financial projections
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in pension plan administration or federal benefits
- Expert knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS/CSRS) and OPM guidelines
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA, or PBC) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software (e.g., PeopleAdmin, Oracle HCM)
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex regulations
- Strong communication skills for presenting to diverse stakeholders
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
