Responsibilities
- Process retirement applications and pension disbursements with 100% accuracy
- Advise members on pension plan options, eligibility criteria, and retirement planning strategies
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension records and financial transactions
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure regulatory compliance
- Develop and maintain member communication materials explaining complex pension policies
- Utilize specialized pension management software for data analysis and reporting
- Represent TERS at community outreach events on weekends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Proficiency with pension software systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation preferred
- Deep understanding of ERISA and Texas pension regulations
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 8am-5pm)
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly
