Responsibilities
- Analyze pension plan documents for ERISA and IRS compliance, identifying potential violations and enforcement opportunities
- Conduct complex investigations into fiduciary breaches and prohibited transactions in multi-employer and single-employer plans
- Provide authoritative guidance to plan sponsors, trustees, and participants on retirement plan administration and reporting requirements
- Develop technical assistance materials and training programs to improve industry compliance understanding
- Collaborate with legal teams on enforcement actions, litigation support, and regulatory policy development
- Monitor emerging trends in retirement plan design and recommend regulatory adjustments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, law, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration, benefits consulting, or regulatory compliance experience
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRC Section 401(k), and multi-employer plan regulations
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex financial documents and plan structures
- Exceptional communication abilities for explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
- Experience with pension plan audits or regulatory examinations
