Responsibilities
- Administer and audit multi-employer pension plans to ensure ERISA and IRS compliance
- Investigate and resolve pension benefit discrepancies through data analysis and stakeholder interviews
- Develop regulatory guidance documents and policy recommendations for pension plan governance
- Conduct on-site examinations of pension plan sponsors and recordkeepers
- Collaborate with legal teams to litigate pension violations and recover misappropriated funds
- Train industry stakeholders on federal pension regulations and reporting requirements
- Monitor emerging trends in pension law and propose regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or regulatory compliance experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS Section 412, and Pension Protection Act regulations
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QPA, or CFA) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension valuation software and data analysis tools
- Ability to interpret complex legal statutes and communicate findings to non-technical audiences
- Experience conducting pension plan audits and financial examinations
- Strong ethical judgment and commitment to worker benefit protection
