Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans for state and local government employees
- Calculate pension benefits, survivor benefits, and disability claims
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Kentucky statutes
- Manage participant communications and educational outreach programs
- Analyze financial data to forecast pension fund liabilities and investments
- Collaborate with auditors and legal teams for regulatory compliance
- Process retiree enrollments and coordinate with payroll departments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits experience
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Millennium, ASC)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or CEBS designation preferred
- Strong understanding of government retirement systems
- Advanced Excel skills with financial modeling capabilities
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
