Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans including CSRS, FERS, and TSP with precision and regulatory compliance
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and survivorship claims within SLA deadlines
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension portfolios to identify discrepancies and mitigate financial risks
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops on retirement planning for federal employees
- Collaborate with legal and financial teams to interpret pension legislation and implement policy changes
- Maintain accurate records using SSA's proprietary systems and ensure data integrity
- Provide expert consultation to retirees regarding pension optimization strategies and post-retirement benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or federal HR
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Federal Benefits Specialist (FBS) designation required
- Proficiency in federal retirement systems (e.g., HRIS, eOPF) and MS Office Suite
- Demonstrated knowledge of ERISA, OPM regulations, and federal pension laws
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data and legislation
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical information to diverse stakeholders
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
