Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for state employees ensuring compliance with federal regulations and Indiana state laws
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursements with precision and timeliness
- Conduct audits and financial reviews to maintain pension fund integrity
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees, beneficiaries, and state agencies
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams on policy updates and procedural improvements
- Utilize specialized pension software for data analysis and reporting
- Maintain confidential records while adhering to HIPAA and FERPA standards
- Participate in weekend shift rotations to ensure continuous service coverage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Proficiency in pension software (e.g., Oracle HCM, PeopleSoft) and MS Office Suite
- Deep understanding of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Indiana pension statutes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Exceptional communication abilities for explaining complex benefits to diverse audiences
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid Indiana driver's license for occasional on-site meetings
