Responsibilities
- Manage pension enrollment processes for new city employees and retirees
- Analyze retirement benefit calculations and disbursement schedules
- Conduct compliance audits for pension fund contributions and distributions
- Develop educational materials explaining pension plan options to beneficiaries
- Collaborate with finance department on actuarial reporting and forecasting
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding retirement eligibility and benefits
- Maintain accurate records in pension administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years pension plan administration experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and pension software systems
- Strong understanding of ERISA and state pension regulations
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid Michigan driver's license (required for occasional site visits)
