Responsibilities
- Administer and process pension plan enrollment, distributions, and benefit calculations for 15,000+ participants
- Ensure strict compliance with Florida Retirement System (FRS) regulations and IRS guidelines
- Conduct comprehensive benefit counseling sessions for retirees and active employees
- Develop and maintain accurate participant records using PeopleSoft HRIS system
- Collaborate with auditors to prepare annual compliance reports and financial statements
- Implement process improvements to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency
- Train new staff on pension administration procedures and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of Florida Retirement System (FRS) regulations and IRS Code 401(a)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems (PeopleSoft preferred)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for stakeholder interactions
- Professional certification (ASPPA, CEBS, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Valid Florida driver's license required
