Responsibilities
- Manage complex pension plan portfolios including asset valuation, contribution calculations, and benefit disbursements
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Florida Statutes 121 through 125
- Process night-shift transactions including emergency distributions, loan applications, and retirement certifications
- Conduct audits and reconcile accounts using specialized financial software (e.g., Oracle Financials)
- Respond to urgent constituent inquiries via secure communication channels during night hours
- Generate comprehensive reports for the State Board of Administration and legislative committees
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize pension administration workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration or government financial experience
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP FICO, Black Diamond) and MS Office Suite
- Strong understanding of retirement regulations (ERISA, IRS 401(k)/457 plans)
- FINRA Series 65 or 66 certification preferred
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours with minimal supervision
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for complex financial scenarios
- Valid Florida driver's license and ability to pass background clearance
