Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan administration including member enrollments, benefit calculations, and distributions
- Analyze financial data to ensure compliance with federal/state pension regulations (ERISA, IRS Code)
- Develop and implement retirement education programs for city employees
- Collaborate with investment teams to monitor fund performance and risk mitigation
- Process complex retirement applications and resolve member inquiries
- Prepare regulatory reports and audit documentation for government oversight
- Utilize pension management software (e.g., Alight, Benefitfocus)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Enrolled Pension Agent (EPA) preferred
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and pension management systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication skills for member education and stakeholder collaboration
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with remote flexibility
