Responsibilities
- Process and verify pension benefit calculations, including final pay and survivor benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state regulations.
- Assist members, retirees, and beneficiaries with inquiries regarding eligibility, contribution rates, and plan provisions via phone, email, and in-person.
- Maintain and update accurate, confidential records in the state pension management system.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies in employee contribution data.
- Prepare and analyze reports on pension fund status and membership trends.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on changes to state pension laws and internal procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in basic accounting or financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with a high aptitude for data entry and management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to the public.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or possess valid work authorization.
