Responsibilities
- Manage pension portfolios for state employees, ensuring accurate calculations and timely benefit distributions
- Process retirement applications and maintain compliance with federal/state pension regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees via phone, email, and secure messaging during night hours
- Analyze pension data to identify trends and recommend policy improvements
- Collaborate with finance teams on annual reporting and audits
- Train night-shift staff on pension administration protocols
- Maintain secure digital records while adhering to HIPAA and data protection standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Texas pension laws
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and pension software systems
- Exceptional communication abilities with experience serving diverse populations
- Night shift availability and ability to work independently during off-hours
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CFP) preferred
